About Andrea Deegan
Andrea Deegan is a partner in our forensics team. She focuses on supporting clients to develop strong anti-fraud strategies and fraud risk assessments. Andrea’s expertise helps organisations create frameworks that outline how they prevent, detect, respond to and investigate fraud committed within or against their organisation.
Andrea has more than 20 years’ experience in shaping clients’ fraud prevention mechanisms and supporting clients to carry out independent fraud investigations. She is an accredited counter fraud specialist and a qualified chartered accountant.
Andrea has spent the majority of her career at RSM. Over the years, she has gained particular expertise in the not-for-profit space through close work with the NHS and charities. She also has also worked with a number of education and housing sector clients.
“I’ve investigated some really extreme and unusual cases so it’s hard to choose just one career highlight. Some frauds are so creative, they're almost impressive. But when you find that one piece of evidence that proves exactly what happened - there's nothing like it. It never gets old.”
Andrea has also found it really rewarding to mentor and guide colleagues and watch them succeed over the years.
Having two boys, most of Andrea’s time is spent on the football sidelines…wind, rain or shine. She loves walking, cooking with loved ones and spending time with family and friends.
