Our deal services team has successfully advised Newcastle Joinery Limited (NJL) on its sale to KWC Group.
The client
York-based NJL is a leading supplier to the custodial and secure accommodation sector, designing safe and secure furniture and equipment for custodial and healthcare environments, including prisons, police forces, young offender institutions and mental health trusts across the UK. NJL designed the first range of Safer Cell Furniture in 2001, and the company has since evolved, most recently creating the award-winning retro-fitted in-cell shower pods.
Our solution
91̽»¨provided deal advisory services, including lead advisory and tax solutions. We undertook a focused process to identify potential buyers and investors in this highly niche market, providing the shareholders with multiple exit options. This resulted in active negotiations with buyers, securing a price and structure that exceeded expectations. We also provided tax advice, resulting in an outcome that met the shareholders’ objectives.
Transaction team: Steve Hubbard, Rich Winter, Finlay Owen and Steve Brown.
